    1. There's a song that says, "You can't always get what you want." But there's another that snaps right back and says that "it ain't necessarily so."Well, Kestrel gave me everything I wanted/asked for (a fantasy, a dragon shifter, sex [implicitly of the hot variety] and humor), and more.I sort of kind of had an idea about how the prompt scene came about, but it wasn't nearly as clever as her idea. The two main characters are believable, delightful human and dragon/human beings. She's constructed a [...]

    2. 3.5 Really liked the beginning and middle of this story, it was clever. But it just lost something towards the end and felt rushed to me

    3. Offered for FREE from the M/M Romance Group's Love Is An Open Road event. Thank you too all the amazing authors who participated!2.5 stars I thought for sure I was gonna give this 3 stars. I liked both characters, even though early on I was skimming through info dumps about their world and The Pact. The best parts were in the middle when they actually meet and then interact. But then the last 20 pages is a very odd climax that comes kinda out of nowhere (view spoiler)[the king tried to break the [...]

    4. Well drawn world of humans who have a pact for protection with dragons who primarily exist beyond the veil. Loved every single character, good or bad, from Merry to Baxx to the Captain and the King. Their personalities were well developed and especially Merry and Baxx were layered and complex. It's pretty instalove but the author manages to pull that off, very impressive since that usually turns me off. It was also, surprisingly, hysterical. Here's a quote.“It was the most nerve-wracking event [...]

    5. This is an excellent and fun story, all the more remarkable because it's a first-time writer. Maybe the prompt being from a phenomenal author inspired her. It's got shifters, intelligent horses, crafty dragons, action and adventure, hot sex, magic, and humor. Despite the author's disclaimer, I did not find a single error, typo, or anything else I would have flagged had I been the proofreader, other than a phrase or two that I could not figure out.

    6. 2.5From the description I had high hopes for this one but sadly it never quite lived up to them.I really liked the idea of this one, and there were times I fell into the story, but there were more times I found myself skimming. The ending was rushed and I was left rather disappointed and feeling like I missed out on something.

    7. Once I started reading this book I didn't put it down until I finished it. It was that interesting and kept my interest the whole time. If you love dragons you love this one.

    8. The story is involved. The characters are fleshed out. There are twists and turns, love affairs, betrayals, lust, back-stabbing and unending loyalty. As a fantasy story, there are dragons, psychic abilities, magic, intelligent animals, other worlds. Everything needed to take you away from this World for a while. The character motivations are very well thought out. All sides are doing things because they believe they are logically and/or morally right. It is hard not to just have a light and dark si [...]

    9. I think I'll rate this book with 2.5-3 stars. The beginning was quite good until half the book. But then the ending is solved in a hurry. (view spoiler)[I like it all the way until they say their goodbyes at the city's doors, or even until Baxx is captured by the king. However, after that point it seems the book takes a fast forward pace. How was the rescue, how Merry explains everything, how he meets Baxx's mother, just to get to explain the final sex scene in detail. (hide spoiler)]I know that i [...]

    10. A cute story. I almost gave it a 4 star rating, but the last quarter of the story was horribly rushed. The main battle happened "off stage" and we just get to hear what happened afterwards. And right after that there's a lengthy sex scene Ignoring the rushed ending (and how the political subplot became an unresolved mess) the actual romance is very cute, with lovely main characters. I liked how the got to know each other first, even though they had an instant connection. And the dragons were ado [...]

    11. Wow! Why did I wait so long to read this. I loved it,wish it was longer and I will be keeping this author on my radar it was that good.
