    1. 2 stars. DNF @40%. Review posted April 20, 2015My thoughts pre-reading Fracture:I hope that's not a bad omen… ---> Radiodemon Publishing. The story is set in Sarajevo, present day. Excuse me while I have a little moment here. The siege of Sarajevo lasted from April 5th 1992 until February 29th, 1996. Said siege was the longest in the 20th century with 1425 days (according to ). I just checked my calendar. It's still the year 2015. I also checked the book for any kind of foreword or informati [...]

    3. *Arc kindly provided by NetGalley *Fracture is a drama about war and destruction. Nora is an american girl trying to survive. She lives in Bosnia after her fiancé's death. She is trapped in a country because her name is on the terrorist list so she can't go to America. One day she helps Declan from being killed like Ryan - he was beaten to death.Declan is a rude, insensitive Irish photographer but at the same time is all that she needs to forget her nightmares. He is so different from Ryan and [...]

    4. From the opening you might want to stop reading and think you made a mistake and this is not a contemporary romance:My heart stops. The nightmare plays out in the wet and muddy street, air filling with the sickening noises of bones breaking, flesh striking flesh, horrible, nasty words uttered in gravelly voices. Yes, yes, yes it’s happening again. Ryan curled up like a potato bug. Ryan screaming as his spine is broken. The skies opening up and drowning us both, Ryan gasping for air.Nora, an Ame [...]

    6. * Rating: 4.5 Stars* Review originally published on book blog Will Read for Feels* I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Intense, heartbreaking, hot, gritty—these are just a few of the words I’d use to describe Amanda K. Byrne’s Fracture, a novel set, for the most part, in war-torn Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovena. Nora Eddington, an American, has been living here for two years, tr [...]

ByrnePublisher:Radiodemon PublishingReviewer:MAustinRelease Date:4-21-15Genre(s):Romantic SuspensePage Count:206Heat Level:3.5 flames out of 5Rating:4 stars out of 5Blurb:Every nightmare has an end. There’s no way Nora can ignore the beating. Same heavy boots. Same curses, same pained groans. But that was two years ago, and this a different man, a different part of war-ravaged Sarajevo. This is her second chance. She has to try.And then she’s stuck with him, nur [...]

    8. Nora is an American citizen trapped in Sarajevo as the government and rebel forces battle for supremacy. She was forced to watch while her fiancé Ryan was beaten death in front of her by government troops, and she is a broken woman now. When she stumbles across another scene just like it, she makes the snap decision to help this person.Declan is a photojournalist on assignment and apparently the soldiers thought he photographed something he shouldn't have. Badly injured, he is unable to be move [...]

    9. After two years in a war zone is there a future?Nora is having flashbacks to the day her fiancé took a beating as she sees the soldiers beating another Declan. She knows that she has to save him. As the doctor fixes him up he won't let go of her hand. As Declan heals Nora takes care of him. He’s rude and tactless. He’s arrogant. Dismissive, but he invades her barriers. Nora doesn't want to feel but Declan makes her. This is a story of a Nora who is left in a war torn area and has not way to [...]

    10. Intense. That was the word which seeded itself into my mind from the first paragraph of Fracture, and the word followed me throughout the entire book. Often times, with contemporary romance, environment plays such a tiny role. In Fracture, the war-zone environment is like its own character. It has as much impact on the story as the actual romance and the two main characters. It makes for a unique read, and not one you come across often in contemporary romance. The story is told entirely from the [...]

    11. So I was a bit confused when I started reading this book. I think it is supposed to be taking place during the Siege at Sarajevo, but the first page says we are in present day Sarajevo. I thought that siege happened like 20 years ago. So I'm not sure if this is a reprint, or it is supposed to be a fictional siege or what. I just went with it. For the setting being in the midst of a war zone, I didn't feel like the author did a good enough job with the world building. I never really felt the terr [...]

    12. Such a great read! Exceeded my expectations so much. I got sucked into this story, not because of the fun bits (it's definitely an 18+ read), but because there was so much depth to Nora's character and it was heartbreaking in so many places. Made me wonder if the author has gone through something similar in her life or her imagination/writing is just brilliant.Nora, a young woman who has lived in terror in the last two years, finds herself saving a life and being responsible for his care - the l [...]

    13. From the first page of the book, you're all in! The book pulls at your emotions through the vivid picture of destruction, Hell, hopelessness, and finally hope and comfort. Amanda Byrne's writing compels you to feel and really see through Nora's eyes. The connection Nora and Declan develop is beautiful, much like a rainbow is after a rainstorm.Nora is in Bosnia, a hot zone ridden with war and destruction, when she seals her fate with saving Declan. Nora is barely holding it together after all tha [...]

    14. Declan is caring in that broody kind of way, "you need it. It’s not uncommon for people who’ve lived through traumatic experiences to take comfort from one another. Now . Come here.” He glares at me." Declan knows how to show his woman when he wants her, "I guess Declan’s not done being crazy, because he grips my hips, positions them over his groin, and pushes up." At times Declan is hard to understand but one thing I understood about him was that he wants Nora to be his in every way, "I [...]

    15. this is the first book by this author that I've read and I couldn't wait to start it after reading the blurb. this is a beautifully written book, it has a feeling of sadness to it which makes the story very black and white in places. the story will have you on the edge from the start to the finish. the relationship between the two characters is fully explored within the book. this book is a fantastic read and I couldn’t put it down till id finished it, the story really sucks you in and keeps a [...]

    16. This book is simply beautifully written. There is a seam of tension, and an overall feeling of melancholy and sadness which, for me at least, makes it feel like the story is played out in monochrome, with only a splash of colour here and there.I felt constantly on edge whilst reading, which I'm sure is the point, given the setting. The conflict permeates the narrative, sometimes quite subtly, but often in a brash, jarring and unexpected manner. And the relationship between our two protagonists? We [...]

    17. ARC from Netgalley for an honest reviewI am pleasantly surprised by this book. It sat on my to-read shelf for some time, and I was putting it off because I was not sure what to expect - alpha romance from the description or the war chronicle. As it happens, the book blends both seamlessly, the siege of Sarajevo comes across 'normal' (as living in war zones is to many people), with day to day struggles and 'life goes on' attitude. The relationship between Declan and Nora is steamy, yet circumstanc [...]

    18. a heart breaking story of love , loss , hope & ultimately the courage to keep going on . nora lost her fiance ryan in war torn sarejavo . she finds declan on the streets being beaten but cannot leave him there to die . after dragging him into an alley to save his life she gets him medical help & ends up caring for him . a sad ,intense & emotional book on so many levels , seriously recommend this book you won't be sorry if you try it .

    19. Fracture’s fast and frenzied opener grabbed my attention from the start. Even though I had no sense of who or what I was captivated by its frenetic energy. I loved the strong yet vulnerable Nora and the intense charisma of Declan.
