    1. so far a great book. only down side is kenneth spends alot of unnesasary time descibing the credentials of the scientists he sites. fascinating information for the geology buff. good balance of technical and human story line. He ties the big planetary cycles together such as el nino with the prevailing winds and geology and climate. the book is kind of nerdy but it's good to be treated as a smart person by the author.

    2. The geology of the west coast of North America, from the tip of Baja to the last of the Aleutian islands. Enjoyable science reading, about something I didn't know much about. Well-written aside from some minor editorial issues.
