    1. I don't pretend to be well-versed in literary horror. Most of the things I've read in the genre seem to rely heavily on the cheesier horror tropes. This book is not one of those. It is unique in that the demons it wrestles with reside mostly within – the kind that inevitably surface when one is confronted with primal fear and unfamiliar situations. The pace is languid, indulgent and allows for plenty of introspection into the darkest recesses of the human psyche set against a post-apocalyptic [...]

    2. This is a superb collection of short stories, ideal for any horror or science fiction fan. There are four stories so if you’ll indulge me I’m going to comment on each of them, especially as they are all so different. In the Cradle of Morpheus – This is written in the third person, although the main character talks to himself a lot which gives the impression of it flip flopping between first and third person. The writing is one of the most enjoyable parts, with several poetic phrases and interesting POV choices. There are also some very unique premises here, even though the concepts of humanity after alien invasion or plague are not new. A couple of typos (such as missed full stops or missing words) did [...]
