    1. Loretta Larson finds a Real Life romance, as she writes her make believe story. Loretta Larson is in her thirties and lives a lonely life. She has buried herself in sad memories and regrets and guilt. But she also learns that bigotry and hatred flourishes in the small town she has moved to. Will her leap into defense and protection of local Italian immigrants cast her into danger from local gangs of evil politicians? Will she be deceived and hurt by the banker she thinks is her only viable chanc [...]

    2. Exceptionally well written novel. Character development is superb. Descriptive and creative writing at its best.

    3. This was a great book. I love to read, or rather, listen to, as I have more time for audiobooks, about events in history. This was a fun historical fiction, with good tension romance, though a bit drawn out for admitting of feelings, but that's generally how romances work. I really enjoyed the story, and the progression of the conflicts and events that drove the story forward. I liked the tie-ins with characters from the first book as well, and overall, a great read. It's always interesting to s [...]

    4. Unexpected ChangesThere are some authors that when you see their name on a book as the author. You just know it is going to be a great read. Mary Lou Cheatham is such an author. With each book of hers that I read. . I enjoy her stories more and more. I can't wait to read the next one in series. Ms. Chatham writes about good hard-working honest people. Who believe in doing the right thing. With a little love story tucked neatly in side. The Courtship of Miss. Loretta Larson is a great story.

    5. "A lonely woman who wrote romances." That's the way the story's heroine, Loretta , describes herself. Was her neighbor and long time friend trying to court her? She was more than surprised by his interest. Her other suitor, the ill mannered Johnson, was beginning to look less and less suitable to her as he constantly insulted and ridiculed her. I couldn't understand how she put up with him!It was a romantic tale of a woman torn between her single life with her career and social work, and her gre [...]

    6. Great bookI enjoyed reading .uld not put it down until the last pageI can't wait for the next adventure. It's good to read a good story and be able to read to your granddaughter too.

    7. LameBring from the start and very repetitious. How many times do I need to be told how lonesome she is or how happy she is.
